Blood Bath at KGO Radio

On Nov. 30 KGO Radio fired most of their on air talent. Gene Burns, Lenn Tillem, Gil Gross and John Rothman were all let go.

The new management has decided to go with an "All News" format similiar to KCBS Radio.

I guess 30 years of being the number station in the area was enough.

I hate sounding paranoid..but who owns cumulus? Koch bros? afraid this is another way for the 1% to shut up the 99%. As far as numbers..interesting that the callers were always so numerous that very seldom could you get in..if you did it would take an hour on hold before you were put on the air

Apparently there is no need for intelligent hosting at KGO anymore. I will track down the places where my favorite hosts wind up. This reminds me of the long ago days when radio host Michael Jackson was let go from KABC in Los Angeles. What we got was the moronic talk that now fills the airwaves; that KFI kind of talk.
Who knows. Perhaps there's a place for Rush and Sean in the line-up now at KGO.
